Fund-raising campaign to restore William Bouguereau’s paintings in the Church of St. Vincent de Paul in Paris

July 1, 2023
In 1881, William Bouguereau received a commission to decorate the Lady Chapel in the Church of St. Vincent de Paul in Paris’s 10th arrondissement.  The subjects were taken from the life of The Virgin: The Adoration of the Shepherds, The Adoration of the Magi, The Flight into Egypt, The Visitation, The Annunciation, Christ meeting his Mother, The Marriage of the Virgin and The Virgin at the Foot of the Cross.  The paintings were completed in 1889 and are representative of Bouguereau’s finest ecclesiastical commissions.  They are now in need of conservation and there is an ongoing campaign to restore the works to their original glory.  All details are outlined in the attached brochure.
